Introduction
Innov8 Hub was honored to host participants of the Senior Executive Course (SEC) 46, 2024, of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, on the 17th of April, 2024. The visit, aligning with NIPSS’ mandate of promoting policy solutions for national development, focused on exploring the role of innovation in driving Nigeria’s digital economy and fostering job creation.
NIPSS is Nigeria’s foremost ‘Think-tank’ with the primary objective of developing a top-class of technocrats of high intellectual capacity, who conceptualize and anchor the implementation of innovative policy initiatives and strategies critical for national Development.
As part of the curriculum, participants took a study tour of some strategic institutions in Nigeria and Innov8 Hub was selected. The theme for SEC 46, 2024, is “Digital Economy, youth empowerment and sustainable job creation in Nigeria.
A Spark of Innovation Ignites Enthusiasm
The visit commenced with a warm welcome from Innov8 Hub’s management. Setting the tempo, Director General of NIPSS, Prof. Ayo Omotayo, captivated the audience with his opening remarks. A proclaimed tech enthusiast who returned to Nigeria in 2004, Prof. Omotayo expressed his profound admiration for Innov8 Hub’s unique and inspiring space. He declared, “Since my return, I haven’t witnessed anything quite like Innov8 Hub in Nigeria.” This sentiment resonated deeply, highlighting the transformative potential of innovation hubs in shaping the nation’s future.

Following the opening remarks, the NIPSS delegation embarked on a guided tour of the Hub. They witnessed firsthand the dynamic environment where innovators, entrepreneurs, and creatives collaborate to bring their ideas to life. The program continued with an insightful presentation delivered by the Innov8 Hub’s Venture Programmes office. This presentation delved into the Hub’s modus operandi, showcasing the various programs and initiatives. The presentation ignited a stimulating Q&A session. The NIPSS delegation actively engaged, posing thoughtful questions about Innov8 Hub’s operational approach, paving the way for potential future collaborations.
